Bedford is a city located in the State of Virginia. It is the county seat of Bedford County. It is home of the National D-Day Memorial [1] commemorating D-Day, and is near Poplar Forest, the rural retreat of Thomas Jefferson. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 6,299.
