Carol Moseley Braun

Carol Moseley Braun (born August 16, 1947) is a former Senator from Illinois, and candidate seeking the Democratic nominiation in the 2004 U.S. presidential election. On January 15, 2004 having received only modest compaign contributions and polling at a low percentage in the Iowa caucus she withdrew from the race and endorsed Howard Dean.
Her candidacy was endorsed by the National Organization for Women. In the debates between candidates she was notable for her civility and courtesy. The main issues she raised were health care and access to higher education.
Moseley Braun is divorced and lives in Hyde Park.
