Two-dimensional sowing games employ a move mechanism similar to mancala games (ie. counters are distributed one by one over several "holes" or squares), but are played on a two-dimensional board. Although most two-dimensional sowing games are modern inventions, at least two are traditional children's games from Yunnan (China). A game has a two-dimensional (planar) topology if counters can be moved from at least two nodes in no less than three directions (i.e. three other nodes) and all lines start and end in nodes and no two lines cross.
