Criticism of Anime-club.ro

Anime-Club has been for a long time criticized for its politics, from roughly communism action, to a majority totalitarianism (the older members - older than 10, best case 100 on register number - were always right and could impose policy, the others have no right to speak to what the others do not like). In recent years however, the thing they would pride themselves the most, the unity of the old, has been broken in two cases so far, by the higher admins, especially Coyotee and Ranma. These were dubbed by some "mod lynchings".

Mod "lynchings"

The first occurrence happened when a group of moderators on anime-club have, knowingly or not, interfered in a promotional project of Comsa Dan about their Project Sakura, IRL in an anime conference (Nijikon). This has lead to the outrage of the first, and with the acceptance of Coyotee, started a mud-splattering topic in which the 3 main "culprits", "incidentally" moderators on the same site and until then long time acquaintances, one would say even friends, were insulted beyond way of defense, not for what they may have done, but for invented defects, spiced with insulting macros and messenger conversations. The 3 were splattered for 6 pages in that topic, until they came, asking to either be removed from moderation, or they would enforce on the topic itself the rules Machinist had flagrantly violated with the accord of Coyotee. In a strange twist, the two preferred to remove them from moderation than abide by their own reglementations. In this first, Machinist roared and thundered, while Ranma and Zeri posted spam posts in mockery of the participants to this.

The second happened more underhandedly, when Ranma banned a couple of users, some being in moderation, without being announced anywhere. This brought the revolted post of one of the old members, who questioned Ranma, who said they weren't in fact ban. As Iusty pointed out though, the blocking of posting, what he had actually done, would be in the same panel as an actual banning. In fact, there would be no major difference between blocking to post and total blocking, and would be equivalent with a block on a wiki site. The excuse he used was that one of them, being mod, would have had access to modifying the incriminating posts. This again was contradicted by users that observed that, in similar cases, this extreme action was not taken. The topic eventually dropped into off-topic.
