J'erin, sometimes also called (and spelled) Jérin-Jérin, is a mancala game played by the Yoruba in Nigeria. Game boards are sold in craft shops in Lagos. It was first described in Europe by R. J. Newberry in 1939.

Rules

The game is similar to Ba-awa except the following:

  • The opening move is made with the contents of two adjacent holes taken together.

Otherwise the rules are identical.
