Olga Korbut

Olga Korbut (born May 16, 1955) is a Russian gymnast who won three gold medals at the 1972 Summer Olympics. That year, she was named the Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year .

Olga Korbut invented two new gymnastic moves, the Korbut Salto and the Korbut Flip. She became a role model for many children all over the world and caused a surge of young girls to join their local gymnastic clubs.
