An oven is an enclosed compartment for heating, baking or dying. It is most commonly used in cooking and pottery. An oven used for pottery is a type of Kiln.

In cooking, the conventional oven is a common kitchen appliance and is used for baking, broiling, roasting and heating food. Food normally cooked in this manner includes meat, cassaroles and baked goods such as bread, cake and other desserts.
