USS Liberty
From Wikinfo
There have been at least two United States Navy or Continental Navy ships named Liberty.
- The first Liberty was a captured schooner that served in Lake Champlain during the American Revolutionary War.
- The second Liberty (AGTR-5) was a Belmont-class technical research ship that was attacked and damaged by Israeli forces on June 8, 1967 (see the USS Liberty incident).
- Often incorrectly referred to as the USS Liberty is the US Army Transport USAT Liberty Glo, a hog islander sunk in 1942 off the Bali coast and now a popular wreck dive site.
