Weekend Update
From Wikinfo
Weekend Update is a regular comedy sketch performed on the television series, Saturday Night Live.
Typically scheduled after the first musical performance of the guest music act, the action consists of a mock newsroom with one of the players playing an anchorman reading off the news of the week and cracking satirical jokes about the stories.
In addition, various other players give humorously bizarre editorials which make fun of the perceived self-importance of such news content.
