- The main function of Wikinfo is as an encyclopedia. For the purposes of Wikinfo encyclopedia should be interpreted liberally to include almost any useful or entertaining information.
- Wikinfo is a dictionary. Its roles as dictionary and directory are secondary, but any word or phrase may be the subject of an article, especially interesting and/or unusual words.
- Wikinfo is a web directory. Any substantial website which is a source of reliable information may be the subject of a Wikinfo article. Also, any eccentric, quirky website that may be a source of amusement. It is desired that articles about websites not be orphaned pages, but it is not a priority that a website article be highly linked.
- Wikinfo is multilingual. If you write/import an article in a language other than English please make a link at the top of the article to the article in English (whether or not the article exists) and to articles on the same or any closely related topic in any language. Alternative main pages in other languages are welcome, as are translations of our help pages explaining Wikinfo policies. Note: The integrity of the articles in a language and conformity with the basic policies of Wikinfo is the responsibility of the editors who are fluent in that language.
- Wikinfo imports content from Wikipedia and occasionally, our content is incorporated into Wikipedia.
- Wikinfo encourages all of our editors :)
