The Anime Club borg mentality, a term recently coined by an administrator of FMA Romania. It vaguely represents the bringing of the pet term into a group behavior. The term is derived from the fictional Borg race in the SF series Star Trek.

Creation

The creation of this condition is believed to have started with the first few members that helped create the site itself. Their mentality, as considered the most knowledgeble in the field, merged between each others' and was more or less forcefully passed on to the others that decided to make that site their residence.

Failure

Most members are initially welcomed with an apparent warm invitation, but which gradually starts to cool down. If the member does not visibly adapt his mentality to the site's, the reception on the forum becomes more and more cold, until the members eventually feel it and have no more desire to fit in anyway.

  • Note: Usually, Manga-Anime users are from the start considered failed candidates, and while some still try to appear they give that warm friendly greeting, there are some that must and will remind them of their roots, and will give them a subtile indication that they are not welcomed there. This is to ensure the minimum contamination of the group's collective ideals with those of "lesser origins".
