The Creative Commons license, or sometimes CCL, is a type of copyright. There are a number of different licenses available under the name Creative Commons, all of which copyright protect works for distribution as an alternative to other open source licences, such as the GFDL.

Creative Commons Articles

The original author of an article created or used on Wikinfo has the option of using one of the Creative Commons licenses, instead of using the GFDL, which is the default license for articles. To select a license for your work visit:

From there, you can select a license which meets your needs. If you accept the "no derivatives" option, please request your article's page here be protected, by posting a note on User talk:Fred Bauder. In order to use the Creative Commons license, or any other alternative to the GFDL, you must set forth in the text of the article the copyright information, including a notice that the article is copyright by you. Putting the copyright in the name of this site is inappropriate. A link back to the specific license you have chosen is helpful to readers and potential editors, for example:

You may include the image to the right, to signify the Creative Commons copyright of your work.

You could also include a combination of the images below, developed by Creative Commons to visually signify the various options, as they apply to your work and the license you have chosen:
