Essay:Condition of the working class in the United States in 2016
The condition of the working class in the United States in 2016 is marked by lack of consciousness by the mass of American workers. A significant portion, mainly ethnic "white" people, have thrown their support to Donald Trump, a wealthy Republican candidate for President who has mounted a populist campaign to "Make America Great." He has promised to "put America first" and denounced global trade agreements and illegal immigration.
Whites who didn’t finish college have increasing voted Republican during the period from 1992 to 2012. They have been replaced in the Democratic coalition with minorities, college-educated whites (especially women), and millennials.
