The Leninist League started out as a faction of the Revolutionary Workers League. The faction left the Revolutionary Workers League and founded its own league, the Leninist League.
The Leninist League published In Defense of Bolshevism. The League believed that World War II was a "phony war", obscuring the real war which was by Western capitalists and USSR "state capitalists" against the European proletariat. Noam Chomsky cites this idea as having an influence on his thinking.
