Simplistic treatment

This article, imported from Wikipedia, has a very simplistic treatment of both shortages and their timing. For example, in the case of shoes, enormous amounts were produced, but people did not buy them, instead seeking fashionable shoes. And perestroika resulted in shortages which did not exist previously. I don't think that is clear in the article. User:Fred Bauder Talk 18:19, 21 April 2012 (MSK)
