The New York Times
The New York Times is a quality newspaper published in New York City since about 1850. It is the de-facto newspaper of record in the United States. It has a liberal capitalist editorial policy which emerged during the early 20th century; previously it had a conservative editorial policy. Since 2011 it has been behind a paywall Wp→ which permits free viewing of only 10 articles per month by non-subscribers. It is generally a reliable source; however, at times, such as the leadup to the U.S. invasion of Iraq, it has reflected U.S. government policy, and propaganda. This is due to its practice of cultivating close relationships with U.S. officials, particularly intelligence agencies, who thus are easily able to plant misinformation in the newspaper in crucial situations.
